How each one works
Google Flow is Google's filmmaking studio built on Veo 3.1 for video, Gemini Omni for video and Nano Banana for images. Its credits come with a Google AI subscription, and every account gets 50 free credits a day. Clips are 4, 6 or 8 seconds and can be extended; Scenebuilder lines them up, and the Storyboard Studio tool lets you write a script, create a cast and visualise a storyboard. Consistency comes from Ingredients, Characters and Avatars. Veo 3.1 generates dialogue, sound effects and ambience together with the picture. A third-party review describes timeline editing and natural-language edits.
Yeşilçam Studios starts from a written story. In Story to film you paste the text and choose a style, a length and a quality tier. A director writes the screenplay and casts up to five characters as reference sheets; only those steps are charged up front. The Ready screen then shows the exact production price, and you can change any scene before confirming. The studio renders a keyframe per scene from the cast sheets, animates it, records narration and dialogue with voices matched to each character, generates music and edits one MP4. A manual route through Yeşilçam's own Flow Studio (unrelated to Google Flow despite the name) and Cinema Studio gives you every step yourself.
Pricing, with the arithmetic
Flow charges per generation, not per second. The figures below are for 30 clips of 8 seconds (240 seconds), raw video only, with every clip working first time.
- Veo 3.1 Fast: 20 credits a clip, so 30 × 20 = 600 credits, inside Google AI Pro's 1,000 monthly credits. Cost: $19.99 a month, with native audio included.
- Veo 3.1 Lite: 10 credits a clip, 300 in total. At 50 free credits a day that is five clips a day, so six days on a free account; commercial and watermark terms are unverified.
- Veo 3.1 Quality: 100 credits a clip, so 3,000. AI Pro's maximum in a month is 1,000 + 50 × 30 = 2,500, so without top-ups this means AI Ultra at $99.99.
- Retakes: at four takes per shot, Veo 3.1 Fast needs 2,400 credits, which still fits AI Pro's 2,500 if spread over the month.
Yeşilçam's cost for a 4-minute anime film with automatic scenes and music, estimated from our published per-operation prices, is $33.99 (Draft), $44.83 (Standard), $58.88 (Cinema) or $151.28 (Cinema Pro) of tokens on Pro, covering screenplay, cast sheets, keyframes, video, narration, music and assembly. With a Power Pack: $25.47, $33.59, $44.11 and $113.33; on Basic: $38.63, $50.95, $66.91 and $171.91. One Pro month (15 million tokens) covers about 2.9 Draft, 2.2 Standard or 1.7 Cinema films of this length. The Draft film uses about 6.44 million tokens on Basic, more than Basic's 5 million a month, so on Basic it takes the $30 plan plus a pack. Lip sync adds 29,167 tokens per spoken line (about $0.15 on Pro). Regenerating a scene is charged; failures are refunded.
The honest summary: for raw clips with sound, Flow on AI Pro costs less than any Yeşilçam tier. What Yeşilçam adds for its price is the screenplay, cast sheets, narration, voices you choose, music and the edited film, plus a price you see before production.
Where Google Flow is better
- Price. The cheapest credible option for a 4-minute film's worth of clips, and a free daily allowance.
- Native audio. Veo 3.1 generates dialogue, effects and ambience in the same pass. Yeşilçam adds sound as separate steps.
- Resolution. 1080p upscale is free on paid plans and 4K upscale is available on Ultra.
- Google's ecosystem. Credits come with a Google AI plan many people already pay for, and Veo is available to developers through the Gemini and Vertex APIs.
Where Yeşilçam is better
- A finished film, not a clip library. One run takes a story to an edited MP4 with narration and music.
- Your own sound. Narration, chosen voices and a music track are mixed in, with the music ducked under speech. A Flow reviewer notes that custom music, voice-over and SFX cannot be uploaded.
- Consistency without extending. Every scene starts from a keyframe built from the cast sheet, rather than extending one clip; a Flow reviewer reports quality drifting after three to five extensions.
- Refunds and lasting tokens. Failed jobs are refunded automatically; Flow reviewers report failed generations and vanished credits, and Flow credits do not roll over.
- Languages and access. A six-language interface including Turkish; none of the competitor pages we checked listed a Turkish interface. Flow is limited to listed countries.
- Automation of the studio itself. Yeşilçam's CLI and MCP server drive the studios directly; Flow has no API of its own.
Who should choose which
If you want many short clips with sound at the lowest price and are happy to assemble them yourself, Flow is hard to beat. If you have a story and want the same characters, your chosen narrator, a music score and an edited film without building it by hand, Yeşilçam does the whole chain and shows the cost first.
