How each works

Yeşilçam Studios: Story to film takes a finished text and four choices: story, one of eight visual styles, length and quality tier. The director writes the screenplay and the cast, and each of up to five characters gets a sheet in your style. The film then pauses on the Ready screen with the exact production price, and you can edit any scene card. After you confirm, each scene with a character is built from a keyframe drawn from the sheets, then animated; narration and dialogue are recorded in the story's language, music is generated and the whole film is mixed into one MP4. Single scenes can be regenerated later at the price of that scene only.

Luma: the Luma App generates video with Ray3.2 (text or image to video, Draft to 1080p, HDR and EXR) and images with Uni-1, alongside third-party models. Luma Agents plan, generate and iterate across a project and claim continuity through final assembly, with built-in editing and refinement. Pro lists 4× and Ultra 15× usage with Luma Agents. Audio comes from ElevenLabs voices and music, lip sync models, or video models with native audio.

Pricing: a 4-minute film

The Luma figures are for raw video only and assume every clip works first time. Budget two to four times as much for retakes, and add voices, music and keyframe images.

  • Ray3.2 at 720p: 100 credits per 5 s = 20 per second × 240 s = 4,800 credits, inside Plus ($30). Those credits are worth 4,800 × ($30 / 10,000) = $14.40. Ray3.2 has no native audio.
  • Ray3.2 at 1080p: 400 credits per 5 s = 80 per second × 240 = 19,200 credits, so Pro at $90. Credit value used: 19,200 × ($90 / 40,000) = $43.20.
  • Kling 3.0 at 1080p with audio: 49 credits per second × 240 = 11,760 credits, also Pro ($90); value used about $26.46.
  • Adding Luma audio to Ray3.2: music at 98 credits a minute is 392 credits for 4 minutes; narration at about 2,160 characters is roughly 45 credits at 21 credits per 1,000 characters.
  • Yeşilçam, all-in: a 4-minute anime film with automatic scenes and music, estimated from our published per-operation prices: Draft $33.99, Standard $44.83, Cinema $58.88, Cinema Pro $151.28 on Pro. With a Power Pack: $25.47 / $33.59 / $44.11 / $113.33. On Basic: $38.63 / $50.95 / $66.91 / $171.91. One Pro month (15M tokens) covers about 2.9 Draft, 2.2 Standard or 1.7 Cinema films. Lip sync is extra.

Per raw second, Ray3.2 at 720p ($0.06 a second on Plus) is cheaper than our Draft tier ($0.129 a second for a 10 s clip on Pro). For the whole film, Luma's raw video costs less than our Draft estimate with Ray3.2 at 720p ($14.40) or Kling 3.0 ($26.46); only Ray3.2 at 1080p ($43.20) comes out above it. The Yeşilçam price includes the screenplay, cast sheets, keyframes, narration, music and assembly; Luma's does not.

Where Luma is better

Luma is ahead on raw footage. Ray3.2 clips run up to 20 seconds, more than twice our longest clip, with native HDR, 16-bit EXR output and up to 16 keyframes per clip for precise control. One account also reaches Kling 3.0, Veo 3.1, Seedance and MiniMax H3, some of them with native audio or 4K. Plus includes commercial use, and the Ray3.2 API suits teams building their own pipeline. Reviewers praise its photorealism.

Where Yeşilçam is better

Yeşilçam carries a story all the way to a finished film in one flow. You do not assemble voices, music and clips yourself. You see the exact production price before production starts, and failed jobs are refunded automatically, while reviewers report that Luma still charges credits for failed generations. There is a free plan, which Luma no longer has. Cast sheets and character bibles stay in your account and can be reused in later films. The interface comes in six languages; none of the competitor pages we checked listed a Turkish interface. The same wallet covers Inkmation, Fashion Try-On and Maket, and the CLI and MCP server let a script or Claude run jobs.

Who should choose which

  • You need HDR or EXR footage for a post-production pipeline: Luma.
  • You want long single shots and several video models in one account: Luma.
  • You have a story and want a voiced, scored film without editing it yourself: Yeşilçam Studios.
  • You want to try before paying: Yeşilçam has a free plan; Luma does not.
