Yeşilçam Animation is the part of Yeşilçam Studios that turns a short piece of text into an animated film, an interactive book or a hands-on lab, directly in your browser. You choose one of 19 styles, describe what the piece should tell, and the studio writes, draws, voices and scores it. The result plays instantly as a preview and can be rendered on our servers as an MP4, WebP or GIF file.

Where to find the Animation studio

Open the Animation menu in the app, or go straight to yesilcamstudios.com/app/animation. The first screen is the Animation studios hub: every style has a card with a sample you can open with View sample, and interactive styles offer Open the sample book or Open the sample lab. Watching two or three samples before you start is the quickest way to feel the difference between styles. The public overview of all styles lives on the Animation page.

The 19 styles at a glance

The styles fall into four practical groups. You do not need to memorise them; the grouping just explains why the form changes from one style to the next.

  • Story films drawn by the studio. Inkmation turns a story into a brush-drawn animated film with a screenplay, narration and music written for you, exported in 11 platform aspect ratios. Foliomation builds layered paper-cut short films with your own character, parallax depth, snow, stars or fireflies and word-by-word subtitles. Puppetmation animates jointed paper puppets that walk, jump, wave and sit.
  • Backgrounds and art without generated images. Papercraft (paper landscapes that build themselves layer by layer), Dioramation (self-building low-poly floating islands with windmills, lighthouses and waterfalls, lit from day to sunset to night), Typemation (kinetic typography timed to the narration) and Fluxmation (shader-driven fluid ink and marble that never repeats). Because they generate no images, they are the most economical styles.
  • Interactive pieces. Popbook is a pop-up book children read in the browser and steer by typing or pressing buttons. Labmation is an interactive lab that teaches one concept, built by AI and run in a secure sandbox.
  • The Cinemation family. Ten looks that animate scenes with your own characters, narration and music, eight with a video model and two, Shadowmation and Pixelmation, with a 2.5D animation engine: Wuxiamation (Legend 2D ink-and-gold scroll or Cinematic 3D), Celmation (classic anime), Neonmation (cyberpunk neon), Toymation (cute 3D feature-film look), Toonmation (classic cartoon), Shadowmation (Karagöz shadow play), Pixelmation (16-bit pixel art), Panelmation (motion comic), Claymation (plasticine stop-motion look) and Postermation (mid-century travel-poster vector art).

Making your first animation, step by step

  1. Pick a style on the hub. The form on the left adapts to it.
  2. Fill in “What should it tell?” Write the story, topic or message in a few sentences. If you are stuck, Write a story with Sam drafts one, and Improve with Sam polishes what you wrote; both show the tokens used and can be undone.
  3. Add characters if the style supports them. Under Characters press Add character, give a name and describe the look or upload an image. Up to four characters per project. See adding your own characters.
  4. Choose how it speaks. The Speech selector offers Narrator, Dialogue, Both and Silent, and Captions can be On or Off.
  5. Set the format. Pick Aspect (16:9, 9:16 or 1:1), Length in seconds (10 to 120), Language, and optionally a Style note with palette, mood or era, plus Music (Automatic, No music or Describe…).
  6. Choose the tier. Professional is fast and economical; Premium gives the best story and scene craft and adds automatic frame review in the video styles.
  7. Check the Estimated cost and press Create. The price is fixed as a ceiling before anything starts.

What happens while it is being made

The work appears under My works with a status line that tells you exactly where it is: Queued, The director is writing the scenes, Painting the images, Recording the narration, Composing the music, Animating the scenes. The director is a language model that turns your text into scenes; the rest of the pipeline follows its plan. Video styles take the longest at the animation stage, which can run for a few minutes. If a production fails, you see “It did not work” and the full amount is returned to your balance. If a video provider is unavailable, production switches to a backup provider automatically, so the film still completes.

Preview versus render

When the status reaches Ready, the preview plays in your browser straight away. For most styles this preview is the animation itself, drawn live on your screen, which is why it opens instantly and why you can scrub scenes with Play, Pause and the Scenes list.

To get a file, press Get video. The video file is produced on our servers as MP4, WebP or GIF. MP4 is the right choice for YouTube, social platforms and editing software; WebP is light and loops well on websites; GIF is for places that accept nothing else. Rendering is billed by the real server time it takes and settled afterwards, so a quick render costs less than the estimate.

Sharing and managing your works

Every work has a Share control. Popbook and Labmation are shared by link: anyone with the link can open the book or lab without signing in, and Stop sharing closes it again. Videos can be downloaded with Download and posted wherever you like. Delete removes the preview and rendered videos from your list.

On the Free plan, video and image outputs carry a small, semi-transparent Yeşilçam Studios logo in the bottom-right corner; subscribers get clean files. The differences are explained in plans, watermark and PRO features.

Tips for a good first result

  • Start short. A 20–30 second piece shows you the style’s strengths at a fraction of the cost of two minutes.
  • Write concrete images, not abstractions. “A lighthouse keeper feeds a seagull at dawn” gives the director more to work with than “a story about kindness”.
  • Use the Style note sparingly: one palette and one mood beat a list of ten adjectives.
  • Try Professional first, then switch to Premium for the version you publish.
