"Avoid" is an optional field that sits right under the main prompt in Yeşilçam Studios’ generation forms; you list there, separated by commas, the things you don’t want to see in the result, such as text, watermarks, blur or a cluttered background. The field takes up to 500 characters and is ignored completely when left empty, so if you don’t use it, generation works exactly as before.

A field like this is generally called a negative prompt. The concept itself and why it works are covered in depth in the negative prompt article; this guide shows where the field is in Yeşilçam Studios and how to use it.

Where is the Avoid field?

The field is in nearly every form that generates images, video, animation, designs or websites:

  • Film Studio: the image and video generation form, the Story to film wizard, character bible creation, video templates, Assemble / Disassemble and Website Promo.
  • Image Studio: the image generation form.
  • Animation Studio: the form of every style, Inkmation and Custom.
  • Design Studio: the new design form and the panel in the editor where you ask Sam for changes.
  • Website Studio: the new site form.
  • Fashion Try-On: the model creation forms.

The field starts closed and only the Avoid (optional) heading is visible. Click the heading to open it. If you type something and close it, a small badge next to the heading shows how many items you entered ("3 items", for example); a field you have filled in opens already expanded next time.

How do you write in the Avoid field?

  1. Write the main prompt first: describe what you want to see.
  2. Click the Avoid heading to open the field.
  3. List what you don’t want with short names, separated by commas: "text, watermark, blur, extra fingers, cluttered background".
  4. Watch the 500 character limit with the counter under the field. If you change your mind, Clear empties it.
  5. Start generation as usual.

Rules for writing it well

  • Name the item; don’t write a negative sentence. Instead of "no people in the background", just write "people"; the field itself already means "I don’t want this".
  • Be short and concrete. Vague phrases like "things that look bad" don’t help; write visible items such as "blurry face", "red colour" or "logo".
  • Don’t contradict the main prompt. If the main prompt says "woman in a red dress" and the Avoid field says "red", the result stays undecided.
  • Write few items, in order of importance. Long lists weaken each item. Three to five items that really matter are usually enough.
  • You can write in your own language. Items you write in any of the app’s languages are prepared for use in generation.

Example: the same prompt, two results

Say you are making a product image for a coffee brand in Image Studio with the prompt "white mug on a wooden table, morning light, plain background". On the first try, meaningless letters appear on the mug, a second cup shows up in the background and a stamp sits in the corner. You don’t need to change the main prompt; writing "text, logo, second cup, stamp" in the Avoid field and generating again is enough.

The same logic works for video. If, while animating a landscape image with Custom, the camera shakes or a sudden burst of light appears in the scene, you can write "shake, sudden light change" in the Avoid field. Trying a cheaper tier first and making the final version once you have seen the result saves both time and tokens.

As a habit, keep the lists you use often in a notes file: one for product images, one for portraits, one for animations. Pasting the right list into each new job, and trimming it when needed, keeps results consistent across projects.

Where does it help most?

JobExample items
Product imagetext, logo, second product, shadow, reflection
Portrait and characterextra fingers, blurry face, glasses, hat
Animationphotorealism, 3D look, saturated colours
Design and postercluttered background, second headline, frame
Videofast camera, flicker, on-screen text

What are its limits?

The Avoid field is a request, not a guarantee. The items you write are passed to the generation steps and clearly reduce the chance of them appearing, but they do not work equally strongly with every model. Especially in video, and with items the main prompt strongly suggests, an item may still appear. When that happens:

  • Remove or change the words in the main prompt that suggest that item.
  • Write the item more concretely: "red roses" rather than "flowers".
  • Remove an item left in an image with Image Studio’s one-sentence editing; see the Image Studio guide.

If a job fails for a reason on our side, tokens are refunded automatically as always; but an unwanted item showing up does not count as a failed job. That is why a Draft or a short test first is a good habit for expensive jobs.

Frequently asked

What happens if I leave the field empty? Nothing changes. An empty field is not sent, and the form behaves as if the Avoid field did not exist.

How many characters can I write? 500 characters. The counter under the field warns you as you get close to the limit.

Are the items I write guaranteed to be excluded? No, there is no guarantee. The field lowers the chance of them appearing; some items can still show up, especially in video. Rewording the main prompt so it doesn’t suggest the item makes the effect stronger.

Can I remove the watermark with this field? No. The Yeşilçam Studios watermark on Free plan outputs is a plan rule and is not affected by this field; writing "watermark" in the field is for text and stamps a model might draw into the image by itself. For outputs without a watermark, see the plans guide.

Does it work the same in every form? The field looks the same in every form and follows the same writing rules. Its effect can differ somewhat depending on the generation method that form uses.
