In Yeşilçam Studios how long tokens last depends on where they came from: the Free plan’s 250,000 tokens are given once at sign-up, Basic and Pro monthly tokens last until the next renewal and do not roll over, and purchased pack tokens are valid for 365 days and are not wiped when your plan renews. When you spend, the tokens closest to expiring are used first, so the chance of tokens going to waste is kept as low as possible.

How do Free plan tokens work?
When you sign up on the Free plan, 250,000 tokens are added to your account once. They are not renewed monthly; when they run out you can buy a pack or move to the Basic or Pro plan. On the Free plan every job is charged with a ×1.3 multiplier and outputs carry a small watermark; details are in the plans guide.
When are Basic and Pro monthly tokens renewed?
Basic gives 5,000,000 tokens and Pro 15,000,000 tokens each billing period. The new period’s tokens are added once the renewal payment goes through. Unused monthly tokens do not roll over to the next period: on renewal day your plan allowance is set to the new period’s amount.
Renewal only affects the plan allowance. Pack tokens you bought and gift tokens are not wiped on renewal; they stay in your balance until they expire.
If you cancel your subscription, you keep using your plan until the end of the period you paid for. When the period ends your account moves to the Free plan: your plan tokens are reset to zero, while gift tokens and tokens you bought are kept. How long are pack tokens valid?
Tokens from the Starter, Value and Power packs you buy are valid for 365 days from the purchase date. The bonus tokens in the Value and Power packs follow the same period. Pack tokens:
- are not wiped when your plan renews,
- are kept when you cancel your plan and move to Free,
- trigger one reminder email 7 days before they expire.
When 365 days have passed, any unused tokens left from that pack are removed from your balance. The Starter Pack (1M tokens) costs $6 with a plan and $9 without; the Value Pack (5M tokens +10%) $27 with a plan and $39 without; the Power Pack (15M tokens +20%) $89 with a plan and $109 without. How long do gift tokens last?
The validity of gift tokens depends on the kind of gift and is stated along with the gift. The affiliate program has two examples: someone who arrives through an affiliate link and makes their first real payment receives a one-time 100,000 tokens that are valid for 90 days, while tokens an affiliate receives by taking their earnings as tokens are valid for 365 days. Which tokens are spent first?
When a job’s price is deducted, tokens are used starting with the kind that expires soonest. This rule means tokens close to expiry run out first, and tokens with no or a long expiry are kept for later. In practice the order is:
- Plan allowance, for subscribers: usually spent first, because it gives way to the new period’s allowance at the next renewal.
- Gift and pack tokens with an expiry date: used starting with the nearest end date. A 90-day gift, for example, is spent before a pack that expires months later.
- Gift tokens without an expiry date: after the time-limited ones.
- Free sign-up tokens: last.
If a pack or gift expires before your plan renews, those tokens are used even before the plan allowance. Expired tokens are not spent and are removed from the balance.
Where do refunded tokens go?
If a job fails for a reason on our side, or if a job priced on an estimate, such as an animation, uses less than estimated, the difference is refunded automatically. The refund goes back to where the tokens were taken from: if the job was paid from a pack, the refund goes back to that pack; if it was paid from the plan allowance, it goes back to the plan allowance. That way refunded tokens keep the validity of the kind they came from. How animation refunds are calculated is explained in the animation cost guide.
A token refund and a money refund for a pack are different things: an unused token pack can be refunded within 14 days, provided not a single token from it has been spent. The rules are in the billing and refunds guide.
How to avoid wasting tokens
- If you subscribe, use your monthly allowance within the period; it doesn’t roll over, so every token spent before renewal day is a gain.
- Buy a large pack when you have a busy production period ahead; 365 days is enough for most projects.
- When the email arrives 7 days before expiry, use the remaining tokens on drafts or tests.
- For expensive jobs, run a Draft or a short test first; failed jobs are refunded anyway.
